Can anyone tell me some reasons why a fairly new combi boiler is not producing hot water? Also affected heating and I'm freezing! tia

Maybe lost pressure in the system. Check the wee gauge on the front, it should show about 1.5.
Have you checked the batteries in the wireless thermostat if you have one? Is the mains water pressure adequate? What make and model of combi-boiler do you have, Patsy?
If your pressure is ok, try the reset function on boiler

Right Douglas, I can see a little gauge it has a curved grey bar and a little red one further round. The needle is two thirds past on grey. There is a controller next to it with 0 1. Can't go past the 1.
Fred, it's a Valiant.
Seems it's not pressure then. I've reached the limit of my expertise. Good luck. :)

Valiant! Eanceoil, where is the reset button. I can't hear anything, so maybe that's what's needed. I pressed the 'flame' button and it's come on by the sound of it!
my combi is an Immerdas, where I have icons of the boiler, then the boiler and rads, there is a RESET {I'm not shouting there} printed under those tow pictures, mine are not buttons but wheels, or dials, and I drag the dial down to reset, it works usually after that, I hear the water filling up and the pilot light flares up

Eanceoil, got it going! I've been fiddling round. Pushed the 'flame' button, didn't work at first. Not sure what I did, haha... Anyway it worked. Thank to all for responding.
great for you, I just found an image online of the kind of controls on my boiler, mine is the first dial http://www.hpwarehouse.co.uk/catalog/product/gallery/id/253/image/2343/
You're welcome, it's good to troubleshoot before calling out the engineers

Ahh, different than mine. You just turn your dial back to reset it. Nice and easy. Thanks once again.
