I recently asked my doctor about a steriod injection that is available that lasts throughout the summer months when the pollen count is high which prevents hafever symptoms. My friends mother gets the injection every year and swears by it. My doctor said that its too risky as it has side effects such as weight gain and weaking of bones.
However people have told me that doctors try to put you off having this injection because its expensive for them to distribute.
Im thinking of seeking a second opinion from another doctor.
I have had hayfever, but I'm careful not to get too druged up with driving (and wearing contacts)
Found this on google http://www.allerclear.co.uk/
use a cooling eyegel pad, straight from the fridge.
or if you are at home, soak a lump of tissue and put it on your eye and hold it on either with an eyepatch or tie it on with a dressing gown belt or something and just sit like that for a while.
i always use a vics nasal inhaler on my dry eyes. it makes them run and water and cools them too
