Old style driving licence

I have an old style driving licence and have been told by a friend, that I need to replace it within a certain date with the new type with my photo on it, or I may have to retake the driving test, is he winding me up, or is this a fact?

There is no need to replace your old style licence. If, however, you move house, you will be issued a photo licence with your change of address on it.
