what was the name of the racehorse who broke its leg and was going to be put to sleep . but the owner / trainer refused to let them do that . instead he took it home in the horse box and propped it up with some old tyres . he got the horse back to full fitness and it won a race earlier on this year

Aldaniti certainly fits that story, he went on to win the grand national (made into a great film with John Hurt rarely shown) bit it was a while back 70s or 80S?

thanks for the answers - but the horse i wanted to know the name of was more recent than those two . like i say it ran this year and won
