Does anyone happen to know roughly the bandwidth (Mb/s Gb/s) of trans-atlantic fibre cable?

although I think this is pacific coast to Aus/NZ/Asia
The other thing much used these days is Wave Division Multiplexing.
In very simple terms it increases the capacity of an exisiting fibre optic link by using different wavelengths of light over the same fibre.
To answer your original qu. do a search on TAT - I think 14 was the last trans-atlantic fibre laid.
