Anyone got this, or heard of it. Its free at the moment and adds another level of security to your existing security. Would hate to download it and find its a scam itself.,

Tried to download Scanguard but it took forever so I deleted it. I have since heard that they want you to upgrade very soon after installation to the paid -for version. I would recommend [paid for] System Mechanic, [free] Avast and [free] Malware Bytes.
Leave alone for now insufficient evidence either way the chances are you don’t need it. Beware
I can't see that it really offers anything which you can't get elsewhere.

Further, the company behind Scanguard (S S Protect Ltd) was only set up on 4th May this year and appears to be linked to a small web design company (Just Develop IT) run by the same guy (Christopher Stephen Phillips). They both operate from the same address, which is a small unit on a business park in Fareham.

Mr Phillips must be both extremely talented and extremely busy because, as well as being the sole director of S S Protect Ltd and one of the two directors of Just Develop IT Ltd, he's also currently a director of JDI Property Holdings Ltd, XJC Jets Management Ltd, XJC Jets Ltd, Resume Labs Ltd, Pseudio Ltd, WZ (UK) Ltd, Red Properties Southern Ltd and Save A Sale Ltd and Design Studios Fusion Ltd, as well as being a former director of JDI Backup Ltd and Intellichat Software Ltd.
The descriptions certainly make my scam antennae twitch. There are plenty of highly regarded alternatives available.
