Central Heating Help

Had a new boiler which was replaced 3 years ago but the engineer never fitted a new room thermostat or timer. We've been therefore running the central heating and hot water manually.

Any idea how much i'd expect to pay for someone to do this.....it would be fit only as we have the parts and the run would only be a couple of meters.

The boiler is an Ideal Logic 18

Call out fees differ in each area Hammer, I would estimate £50 at the most, sound a lot but try and get a plumber these day, check your local rag.

You can get wireless timer/thermostat. So there's no need for hard wiring.

Room thermostat wouldn't need replacing. Unless you specifically asked for one.
Engineer only had to connect existing wires to new boiler. Basically it's only a on/off switch.

The Ideal Logic comes without any timer or programmer, so that you can choose your own. I can't think why the fitter didn't ask for your preference as he was installing the boiler.

Ideal can supply a programmer that simply fits onto the boiler. Around £35 for a manual, and £50 for an electronic. I see the others have already mentioned this. I just wanted to confirm it, as I'm having an Ideal Logic fitted in my own house in a couple of weeks, so I've asked for it to be included in the price.

I'll be using the same, existing roomstat.
