I am moving house at the weekend after 40 odd years in my present house and I can't help but feel sad like leaving an old friend and all the happy memories I had here
I had to sell my old childhood home 9 years ago. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Every time somebody came to view it I almost hoped that they wouldn`t put in an offer but I knew that the place had to be sold so that my Mum could come to live near me. You will probably find that once the place is cleared out it won`t look like your house and you will feel better
I know how you feel breadstick, two years ago we moved to a bungalow, We sold a perfectly good house no problems with it at all. I am still missing the old place, we lived there for 25 years I miss my gardens, my laundry room.....the whole lot really. Mr Ask said I was being daft, but I cried the first day we moved in here, so don't feel bad about it, you will find the good things in your new place, and the memories will be sweet.
I downsized into this lovely flat in May of this year, my girls are living abroad now, so my cat molly and I are happy here, and I know that it is the right thing for us, good luck in your new homw. xxx
You're not being wimpy at all. I can only reiterate what others have said.
You still have your memories to take with you. You will soon find happiness in your new home.
I know that feeling only too well of leaving a home you have lived in for a while. Not the saddest feeling in the world obviously, but bad enough. As others have said, you are no wimp.
