in Scotland you can download the necessary paperwork and send to the office of the public guardian for registration..no need for solicitor
If two (or more) people have power of attorney, what happens if they disagree on what to do? Who has precedence?
I think you can do it without a solicitor. Best bet is give them a ring and ask...they were really helpful when I was doing Mum's and Mother in Law's. https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/office-of-the-public-guardian

Eddie - If I remember correctly, all attorneys have equal 'precedence', but I think you can nominate who is number one etc if you want to. Its been bout 5 years since I did them and i'll be honest, my memory isn't what it was!!
I would advise not Cap, I have done it myself for my Mother who has Dementia, there is 2 of us Brothers left, the other brother is a thief I would not trust him with anything regards my Mother, you can do it yourself.
To add, if you decide to do it get receipts for EVERYTHING, you will soon find the Sharks coming out of the cupboards if you don't.
