the daddy long legs has the most venomous poison but due to its fang size cannot get through the skin...was told this at a wildlife park during half term!

another urban myth.... the myth about daddy long legs in fact refers to daddy-long-legs SPIDERS and not what we in the UK refer to as daddy long legs- that bumbling flying critter of autumn. Enough about daddy-long-legs, (Crane Fly, harmless to humans in larval and adult stages). Dragonflies are different. Although wholly non-poisonous, the biggest ones are capable of giving you a nasty nip, as described here

it would seem you are correct burnhal although on checking out Wikidpedia it would seem that no-one really knows the true answer because the research cannot be done.
