This pops up on Wikipedia from time to time - is it a scam?

Nope - not a scam - it's a perfectly reasonable request for funds to support wiki - we all use, it but relatively few people contribute to the running costs.

Not a scam. No adverts, independant, updated site with reader generated content. Send them a couple of quid or so. I did.
