Local History Publications
8 Answers
My friend and I are considering writing a local history book in the new year. Do any of you have any ideas of how we go about getting it published. We only thought of it today so haven't researched publishing as yet. We do have a University with a printing department in our city. Any help or tips gratefully received.

(You basically do it by writing it onto Word or similar programmes, turning it into pdfs, then uploading them.) It costs nothing to publish, only to print - about £3 a copy for 80 pages - plus p&p, but they often have special offers. You can print as few or as many as you want. I was just doing it for family but if you want to sell to the public you can arrange ISBN numbers through them, and sell through them, Amazon, Ebay, or anyone you can persuade to stock it.
