Car Insurance Was Renewed Without My Permission

zenith sent me email to say my insurance was renewed, what a crafty move ! because since i didnt call them before 1st december they knew that i would not renew with them or they knew i had found another company so they went ahead and renewed themselves. no one even called or mailed me to ask me if i wanted to stay with them, i sold car 1 month ago .
surely i need to be refunded on this immediately .

I'd agree that it shouldn't be allowed- we should be sent something to confirm renewal. The insurance companies say they are doing it as a favour to us to make sure we don't fall uninsured because of forgetfulness. I always double check it's not autorenewal and would let the old insurer know I wasn't renewing

hA HAHAHA - That was going to happen to me over a blasted "new cooker" - renewal date was 1 January 2017 - but got on the blower yesterday and repeated (I am deaf) that I didn't want renewal.
Altogether they charged £173 for the year - and what happened was I pulled cooker out to clean either sides and lead wasn't long enough and it came out of wires. I could have fixed myself. But my cooker man woould have probaly £30-40. I hope she took it

Anything that takes my money without my unpressured consent and forces me to go through the hassle of reclaiming it, is a problem; and should be illegal. But most if not all think your money is their's these days, and the bank and it's less than secure system is happy to pass their money to them and then reduce the amount in your account to compensate them for their generosity.
