//One4Kids producer Subhi Alshaik told the BBC he enjoyed Peppa Pig but that "apparently there are messages in there that turn kids into brats".//

My kids didn't grow up with Peppa Pig - so what are these messages - anyone ?

No idea, peppa pig is very popular with young children, I doubt it's popularity wil suffer if something similar is introduced .
It would have been good had he explained what these messages were - I don't recall any to speak of.
My grandchildren loved and love Peppa Pig and they have not turned into brats, actually PP is a functional family.
Yet more nonsense where the West are expected to cow-tow to the wishes of a minority.

Well, if they want an alternative; pay up and make one. It's a free country.
That's exactly what they are urging, yes.

//The Australian National Imams Council (ANIC) has encouraged parents to raise funds for TV shows that support Islamic values.//
Peppa pig is a horrible programme, and there are many messages that would turn kids into brats. Firstly she is always horrible to her froends, her brother and particularly her dad. she likes to be the centre of attention and is vile till she gets her own way. Sadly children love it!
Wasn't Peppa Pig used by the Labour Party once?
I'm surprised there haven't been more complaints :-)
Bet they are going to appeal immensely to the children.
Peppa Pig is actually quite good. The humour is pitched so adults can appreciate it
Some adults ... :-)
Peppa Pig irritates me. She's cheeky, rude and mean. I particularly don't like the way Daddy Pig is called fat and lazy on a regular basis.

And her jumping in every damn puddle...

I do try to steer the kids away from it, but sadly they do love her. We have discussions about how naughty she is and how it's not a nice way to behave.
hogwash ,my grand children watched it and they are not brats .

//And her jumping in every damn puddle... //

lol - what a sin eh - don't all kids jump in puddles , given the chance ?

I watched Teletubbies a few days ago. !!!!
My kids love puddles, but there is a time and a place. For instance, I would rather they didn't drench themselves on the way to school and spend the rest of the day soaking wet.

Were they rude ? - i can't recall
Peppa Pig is fine. The one that causes problems is Horrible Henry.
Two lots of my grandkids tell me ' we learn to be naughty by watching Horrible Henry'
