Did it not come with instructions?
Take it out the plastic, make sure it doesn't dry out and chuck it out in January and get a Primrose for Spring.
Put it somewhere as cool as possible and don't overwater. They rarely last long and are really complicated to keep much past Spring.

I wouldn't have a baldy - it is just sitting beside fireplace. Will go down and do something now.

Sammy are you serious
Question Author
ok prudie - it is actually near a radiator. must move it - will it be ok to unwrap the plastic and put it outside of house - would that be a no no
No can't cope outside but can't cope near a radiator either.
Question Author
shall i water it - from last Sunday oooops
I've got one also
Told to water sparingly with lukewarm water and keep out of direct sunlight and not close to radiator or fire
Bets on which will survive longer?
Christmas cactus or poinsettia?
Christmas cactus should go on for years unlike poinsettias which are not worth the fuss once Christmas is over.
Don't expect too much of the poinsetta, just keep it cool if that's possible in a warm house, and water sparingly. I'm with Sammy, once its finished throw it out . Poinsetta are for Christmas not for life!
