Despite reports of a decline in Christianity, evangelical and charismatic churches are seeing an increase in attendance and from reading the posts over the years on here I get the impression that some of the posters are members of those churches. Whilst not actively observing Christian practice on a daily basis, the emotional aspects of its doctrine remain entrenched in the western psyche, and therefore, despite only ever entering a church for family events such as baptisms, weddings, and funerals, many do consider themselves to be ‘Christian’. I think people, in general, are well aware of the fundamental purpose of Christmas and in their own way, embrace it.
