Before I was adopted by my first cat (George) I was very much a dog person. I hated cats because they were evil, manipulative, bossy, demanding, boring, sneaky and snide and also spiteful little monsters.

I was so very wrong - they are not boring ........

Oh I have gone off you, Wolf!

We had cats for years. When I moved here I wanted nothing to look after... not even a house plant.....but this has tempted me by reminding me of the fun.......☺
Robbie is very much a 'shiny things' cat, so a Christmas tree is irresistible. I have, therefore, been very mean and deprived him of one for the last few years. I may change tack this year as am at home recovering from a small operation, so have more time to play. Campbellcat may idly tap a few baubles, but that's about it.
I'm not a cat lover, Wolf, but I can see the appeal of those cute little blighters.

Thanks for posting that. x

The little ginger one is called Marmalade and his brother (from another mother) is called Cole.

Marmalade is FiV+ (Kitty cat AIDS) and has had treatment for cancer. Doesn't seem to have slowed him down.

I wish you a speedy recovery, Campbell. Not working over the Christmas period then?
Back to work next week Tilly, interesting to see hospital from the other side, and now know if you go to Papworth Day unit you get a proper teapot of tea after your procedure!

Campbellking - could you not stretch your cat leave out until the new year? My last dog was called Robbie - he was a total psycho but his mummy loved him.

gness - watch a video of a manic kitten, should put you off cats for a couple of years. ☺

Tilly - until I got George I didn't realise how different each animal is. I had thought of a cat as a small dog that didn't need walking.

I don't envy you having to traipse to Papworth, Campbell, even if you do get a pot of tea. I'm glad to hear you're on the mend.

Best wishes.
Tilly, better to go to Papworth now before it gets transferred onto the Addenbrookes site (at which point it will become a nightmare journey). Consultant seemed fairly confident the problem's solved, and can now stay off the medication (and get back to proper exercise next week)
Wolf, think Robbie would be far too happy to have me at home all day, Campbell wouldn't get to play the deprived cat to all passers by so would not be so chuffed...
We used to have two cats when I was younger - a mother and daughter.

They once manged to topple the Christmas tree, right in the middle of Christmas dinner.
Still prefer dogs.
Oh no, smelly things Herelam.
