Returning To Argos - Ripped Box

Does anyone know what Argos' policy is regarding ripped boxes?

Granddaughter got one of those robotic dogs at a cost of £50 for Christmas.

Within an hour of her playing with it it started making weird noises and not doing what it was supposed to.

At that price (apart from a very upset little girl) we have to take it back but it's one of those things that was anchored to the box and very hard to get out so my Son had to practically rip the boxes sides to get it out.

So worried they won't now take it back, to add to the problem they are completely out of stock at any Argos in my area.

I think you'll be ok. It has no resale value if it's not working.
Actually, I returned a faulty iron about 9 months after I bougt it and certainly didn't have the box that it came in.
As long as you have the receipt then you can get a refund or replacement. They may turn up their nose but you are the customer.

Oh thanks, yes I do have the receipt. That's made me feel a bit better.
No legal eagle but I think that they are obliged to accept return of faulty goods regardless of box and box condition.
