Knee Won't Straighten- Help !

I woke up on nye and couldn't straighten my knee without pain. It's been dodgy for a long time with arthritis/ hypermobility and a knee ligament reconstruction aged 13. I got myself into hospital where they just gave me codeine and sent me away. The codeine helped a bit and I was a bit more upright. Next day - a but better. But it's just gone again - during the night as before. The pain is only when straightening and is to the left of my patella as I'm looking down on it. It radiates around the left side (fat edge of knee). I have no idea what to do. The knee specialist says I'm too young for a replacement and I should go swimming. HOW?! I can't even get to the loo. Also my weight is an issue and I would need to lose a lot before the op, but it's so hard as I can barely move most of the time. Grateful for any advice. Has anyone ever had these symptoms?

I have a knee which "clicks out of position" sometimes. It hurts putting it back in place but I do so.

Sounds to me your issue is much different to mine so don't try what I do.

I'd suggest seeking more medical opinions.

Good luck and all the best, hope you get it sorted out soon.

Thanks. I am fairly sure it's a meniscus tear as I did twist awkwardly a few months back with searing pain and that at the time stopped me from straightening my knee. Not sure what I can do though.
Have a read of the info here, click the little thingy to get more.

Then seek a real medical experts opinion.

Dr. Google isn't always correct.
