Ebay Problem

I advertised two sofas on behalf of my in laws and specified that they had to be collected by Tuesday as new ones were being delivered. I did a buy it now price and said collection only. Yesterday a guy paid in full but I looked and he lives miles and miles away. He has made no contact about collection or anything since he paid even though I've messaged him several times and even given him my phone number. So what do we do if it comes to Tuesday and he still hasn't made contact? I assume I'm obliged to refund the money even thought he's stopped anybody else paying and collecting them!!
