Did you know Bill gates got his millions and fame from basically taking an idea his partner had, when they were both young... and sold the product (idea) to Microsoft and became more famous and rich then he could have imagined... weird hey..

Jennykins, That is not quite true.

Bill was very interested in computers while at university and mainly player around with the Basic language.

He also help start the Microsoft company.

The computer market was very fragmenred then (early 1970s) and there was no single company or product that dominated.

Bill heard that IBM (huge computer company in those days) was building its first PC and needed a language, so Bill offered them Basic.

At a meeting with them he heard they also needed an operating system for the PC.

Bill did not have one, but someone he knew did, so he bought it off them for peanuts (a few thousand dollars comes to mind) and offered it to IBM.

IBM said yes, but Bill said they could have it for their IBM PCs if Microsoft could keep it for all other PCs in the world (very few at the time).

This was a GREAT bit of business thinking by Bill.

IBM said yes, what the heck, thinking the PC market was small beer.

So IBM brought out IBM DOS and Microsoft brought out MS DOS.

Soon there were millions of PCs, and most of them ran MS DOS.

This was the start of Bill's millions, because from DOS came Windows and we all know where that took us.

btw I worked for IBM for 30 years and was in the company when all this was happening.

If you had of done you would now be worth millions if not billions as most of the early Microsoft employees and investors are now millionaires.

We know he's not the devil because he set up the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation which is funded entirely out of his own pocket. Satan wouldn't be that generous... unless he's aiming for global domination by taking over the 3rd World Countries first... hmmm....
