Why was no one sacked? A lame apology will do apparently.

// Officers failed to respond to the 999 call of Luisa Mendes, who said she was being beaten by two men with whom she lived. When police did finally arrive, 14 hours later at her address in Leamington Spa, she was dead. //

'Murdered' is Gromits terminology - there is no mention of that offence in the article.

"a woman who was a victim of domestic violence and died following a violent attack"

What bloody difference does it make what the cause of death was !

She died, when the Police might have prevented it, if they had attended in the proper time.

That is what this thread is about, not nit-picking about the details !

Jeez !
//At the inquest a jury found that Miss Mendes died from a ruptured spleen as a result of deliberate application of force from a third party after the calls from the police.

During the inquest the jury heard how Mr Taylor, an alcoholic himself who was deemed unfit to give evidence at the hearing, had admitted to attacking Miss Mendes on the night before she died.

The Jury also found that the failure to upgrade the emergency call to ‘violent’, an inadequate handover procedure and the errors or omissions of supervision of the police control room also contributed."//

Something is very odd here, it simply doesnt stack up.

I'm furious given a 999 was not responded to that resulted in death but unsure where to apportion the blame with the facts I have.
Two ponts I would like to have seen answered:- Were the control room staff civilian or police?. Did the control room pass the information to anyone?
mikey - //"a woman who was a victim of domestic violence and died following a violent attack"

It makes a difference between murder, manslaughter, death by natural causes, and so on. The justice system cannot tack on a charge or murder if someone died as a result of unconnected circumstances.

// She died, when the Police might have prevented it, if they had attended in the proper time. //

They might - we don't know that yet, until all the circumstance are known.

// That is what this thread is about, not nit-picking about the details ! //

The 'details' ensure that a miscarriage of justice is avoided.
The police these days have their hands tied dealing with Jihadists. One of them tried to blow up a petrol station in Melbourne recently and they didn't even come out for that, either
I'd like to know what ToraToraTora means by this?

"for two cells, why were the 2 guys that beat her up not tried?"
