Carpel Tunnel Syndrome

I have CTS and a while ago I agreed with my Dr to leave it and see how or if it progresses.
I have made an appointment to go back because it now wakes me up with such. Pain it is unbelievable. (Well unbelievable for me lol). The pain radiates from my elbow down to encompass lower arm and the whole of my hand.
However my brother had CTS and had it sorted by minor surgery and he said he got no pain at all just numbness.
I Amy wondering if, as a friend said the pain could be linked to vitamin b12 defincy or because he worked on computers he got something done before it got to the pain stage.
Any have any experience or ideas about this?
Thanks

I refused and decided on acupuncture to help with the pain......it works well for me thankfully.....and by following a course of exercises I found on the internet.
A friend had the surgery which was a great success.......but I prefer my way......☺

I have no experience at all, but a few ideas.......I think that you mean B6 deficiency rater than B12.
Many doctors have come round to the thing that CPS is associated with B6 deficiency and the combination of this plus anti-inflammatories e.g Ibuprofen produce good results, as good as surgery.
You have intense pain at night and this would suggest an advanced stage of CPS.
If it were me, I would want blood tests to exclude B6 or B12 deficiency and if they were normal, would submit to surgery.

Thank you.
I have recently had tests for B12 and the first came back within normal range but the consultant said the test was unreliable so I had another one (with a name I can't pronounce so forgot lol)
Not heard about it being linked to B6 so will have a look at that and suggest it to theDr on Friday.
OH just kept saying it was numb because I slept on it but I don't sleep on that arm at all, ever. So much notice he takes LOL.
Is there a supliment for either B6 or B12 or is it's one of those you have to obsorb from food?

Saw the Dr today and after looking at my notes said I had the tests for it back in 2008 and had mild to moderate CTS.
I am going for steroid injections on 23rd and have to get a splint but the Dr said that because it was so bad they might have to go for surgery at some point anyway.
I went to the chemist for the splint but they didn't have any. They were £5.99 so I had a look on Amazon and they are up to £4 more plus p+p so I will wait till the chemist has them in on Monday.
