Eye-Nose Connection ?

I have been prescribed some rather pungent eye-drops. Soon after administering them, I seem to have a strange taste at the back of my mouth. Is there a connection, or am I imagining it ?

Chloramphenicol? If so the taste is nasty - only short lived but yuk.

From one site, "You may get a taste of eye drops in your mouth, or a feeling that the drops are running down your throat. This is normal as the tear duct which drains tears to your nose will also drain some of the eye drop. To prevent this gently press on the tear duct for a minute or so after applying the drop. This will also help prevent any of the eye medication getting into the rest of your system,"

I’d press the tear duct if I knew where it was.

The tear duct is what tears come out of when you cry.

You'll need to be quick too, you taste them before you move the bottle away - it is good advice though.
