Haven't managed to see it, but was very glad to hear tonight that a local lad (Tyler) has got through. He's a decent, ordinary boy, who helped to repay some of the local encouragement he has received by giving a concert for charity for us last year - raised over £1,000. This show sounds dreadful, but if it helps him, then OK. Gary Barlow apparently turned up at Tyler's mum's caff. without announcement or publicity. There were, I'm told 60 or so auditions.

It's very funny that on the day he decided to turn up there were cameras and a whole coachload of trippers on the same day, and how did they know that he would bursting into song as Gary arrived ! lol

Then I was mislead, teacher1- his mum said she didn't know about it. Obviously something went on tv. and I didn't see it. I still believe his mum - she was shellshocked. Apologies for naively believing what I was told by a very reliable person.
