Well, everyone has problems, dd. As you get older you add intractable and incurable health problems to them. Yet, I'm happy, so is Mr.J2, despite the constraints.
Look around at the little, good things, the spears of snowdrops beginning to appear above the earth for example. Go for walks, meet and talk to people and listen to their stories. Try volunteering for a cause you can identify with. In other words, it is something to do with stepping outside your own circle of problems and maybe helping someone with theirs.
A elderly lady died at 10.20 last night. She was amongst the little group for whom we sang carols at the Nursing Home just before Xmas. She had some sherry and a mince pie and joined in the singing very happily. Lovely lady, had a nice chat with her, and it is good to feel that I helped to give her a very happy time. Many organisations which try to help the homeless need help themselves - one to think about.
It's all I can suggest. Meditation may well help, but not if you dwell on the miseries.
