sorry this should be under techi. Just trying to put new cartridge in but as it is so long I can't remember to get the old cartridge to "move over" and remain stationary.

epsom printer c46
What printer do you have, Jenny ?
On the Cannon printer you just have to open the cover and it centralises automatically.
Don't you need to remove the old cartridge, Jennyjoan?
To replace an ink cartridge using the maintenance button, follow the steps below.

Make sure that the printer is on. The power light should be on, but not flashing.

Open the printer cover.

Press the maintenance button. The print head moves to the black or color ink cartridge replacement position, the power light begins to flash, and the error light begins to flash or remains on. When both cartridges are out of ink, the print head moves to the black ink cartridge replacement position first. After replacing the black cartridge, press the maintenance button again to switch to the color cartridge replacement position.

The maintenance button is second from the left when you lift the lid.

Thanks Donny - got the new cartridge in - after a fashion - and at first was printing blank pages. I then went to maintenance and so I have now got my first copy of my new will. - Just needs to be signed. I made it brief indeed.

Again thanks everybody who answered.
It's a pleasure to help, Jenny.
