Oh dear ! His poor Mother.

My best guess about is this :::

He attempted to walk home, whilst very drunk. He went into that service yard behind Greggs, maybe to see if there was anything to eat. He accepted a lift, from A N Other, hence he wasn't seen by CCTV camera again, leaving the yard. A N Other dropped him off somewhere on the journey. He then started to walk the rest of the way home and then met his end by accident.

If we could trace A N Other, then a very significant part of the truth would be known.

There is still the matter of the bins. Although the one from Greggs was weighed and was clearly ok the other two in the vicinity were not. He would not be the first to sleep in a bin and end up crushed in the trash

Mikey, it's known that he'd eaten at a pizza takeaway shop so he wasn't looking for food. Also he'd told a witness at the shop he intended to walk home. I wonder if that back yard was just a short cut? He went in there but didn't come out again so it seems whatever happened to him happened there.
