I assume your new phone is a pay as you go?

If so you can request a new size sim from your current provider
Lots of large SIM cards convert to micro ones. Just look at the sim and see if you can push out the gold chip part to make it a micro sim.

my old sim is far to old to be converted .
I'd doubt the SIM card age prevents it being physically trimmed to fit. Credit is usually associated with the number. Why not simply use it up on the old handset ? And credit the new account separately ?

I'v got a lot of money on my old sim . The rate I use my phone it would take me two years to use it which defeats the point of gettin a new phone :
Or you could contact your old service supplier and ask for a micro version of your SIM card.
All the phone companies I have heard of cancel your credit unless it is used within a month of putting it on the phone. I know you used to be able to do it but I thought it had been cancelled now.
Who is your old SIM card with?

If it is with the same company it should be as simple as phoning them asking for the PUK code and setting up the new SIM with your old number - then the money will be there automatically
PAYG has mainly moved on now and Tesco is one of the better ones that do not cancel your unused credits

I am with tesco .
Eddie - I've been with EE, Tesco and Vodafone and never once have I lost my credit if I haven't used it within a month.

I have an old PAYG 'phone wit EE which we keep for 'Emergencies' never had any Credit cancelled on it.
Oh its simply then puss just either contact them via a webchat or give their helpline a ring tomorrow and explain that you have a new sim card you want to keep the same number and credits and they will be able to sort it out quick as can be xx
