So its started, the roll back of Obama's laws.
One thing I don't understand about Trump and the Affordable Care Act. We keep hearing that Trumps core voters were the less educated and less well off,
Just the sort of people who would have benefited from something like Obamacare.
So why is he so keen to repeal something that would be good for his core voters ?

Koskinen told Congress that 80% of taxpayers indicated on their returns that they had qualifying coverage all year; in addition, nearly 13 million taxpayers, or about 9% of taxpayers, claimed one or more health care coverage exemptions.

The Whole US attitude to health care is barbaric. Obamacare was at least a tiny step in the right direction. What I just cannot see is why the mighty US is happy to have a terrible system for health care. Trump is doing this sure but the US attitude to healthcare is mysterious. They have companies who's sole purpose is to avoid paying claims. There are many who can't afford the insurance there are many still that cannot even get the insurance. Watch this for an eye opener on the US health system: http:// www.imd b.com/t itle/tt 0386032 /?ref_= fn_al_t t_1
Zac is correct......it is a complicated affair and I really have never understood Obamacare, but what i do know, anecdotally, is that many Americans do not want a NHS type of healthcare..........they see reports if NHS scandals e.g Mid Staffordshire horrors, they see that, or interpret that, cancer care is fragmented in the NHS and they also have the perception that over 65's in the UK are "thrown on the scrap heap."
From what i gather..Trump is going yo replace Obamacare with what, I an not at all clear.
