Blue tits in pond - walking on water would you believe?

Was alarmed to see a family of newly fledged blue tits in my garden yesterday. They couldn't fly very well and in their confusion several of them landed into my little pond. I rushed out into the garden to rescue them with a fishing net but to my amazement they were so light that they struggled around on the ozygenating water plants on the surface and managed to take off again. Phew, Big relief !

We've had the same thing in our garden Wendy!

I can see our pond from the kitchen & dining room windows & have often called out to my husband that the birds are 'walking on water' again, when they're actually walking on the floating plant & lily leaves!

It's wonderful to watch them.
