Why do the whets do this? Just leave the bloody thing alone.
It's bad enough that whenever there is a new show runner they want to change everything, have a clean sweep and mess with it.

according to some of the papers, the word on the street is that if hadn't jumped, the BBC would have pushed him, because of disastrous ratings for the last series. so I think we can expect a total re-think of the concept, making it more "relevant" to today's audience. and it may indeed include that which Gromit suggested wasn't what Dr Who was about - an angst ridden doctor coming to grips with his gender identity and years of repressed sexuality.
