Is Anyone Going To Miss Janice Long And Alex Lester On Radio Two?

Both presenters are losing their through-the-night shows as Radio Two switches to a recorded programme format.

I really liked both those programmes, Janice was very emotional, but remained professional, when she did her last show. Can't imagine it will be the same, but will give it a chance.

I used to enjoy Alex Lester and the best time of the day show but am no longer up so early.

I've not listened to Lester but I didn't mind Long on the few occasions I heard her show.

Incidentally, a daft fact, did you know that Janice Long was a contestant on the very first '321' TV show?

Alex Lester is the best DJ on Radio 2, by a long way.

They should find him a daytime slot, if he can cope with the daylight.

I agree with Buenchico's thoughts in the other thread. I can't put it any better than he did, so I won't bother to try.

I've never listened to Alex Lester. I do like Janice Long.

I rarely heard Janice Long. Alex Lester is an outstanding broadcaster. Radio 2 is being systematically ruined by a management that drives out talented individuals to bring in dull, bland "names". Radio 2 is becoming the station to avoid.

That endless breathless student chummy style is utterly undignified for a woman in her mid-forties - she needs to grow up, preferably away from the airwaves!!!!

I have ranted about Ms. Wiley on other occasions, when I am reminded how much she irritates me (and no, I don't listen!) - and I am yet to find anyone to leap to her defence.

Either people don't care (likely) or they simply agree!!!

Must admit I didn't realise she was that old but there again she does seem to have been about a long time.

I don't like her piercing shouting when she is announcing on stage.

Alex Lester - agree with Buenchio, he's an exceptional presenter.
Janice Long - indifferent to her; only ever heard bits - always seemed to be talking to the weatherman.
Jo Whiley - agree with andy-hughes, absolutely awful; needs to be put out to pastures new, preferably a long way away.
However I've just noticed that my favourite presenter, Huey Morgan has been moved to midnight till 3am from tonight. Being an early bird I won't hear as much as I used to when he was on 3am till 6am but at least he's still here.
