Carrying on from gingers, my sister is one but I'm not allowed to say she's ginger - she's not ginger, she's "STRAWBERRY BLONDE!!!" :)))

I'm not too far from Mikey, but no snow here at all.

Well......I bought a lovely piece of pork loin yesterday, and I am going to have that with Yorkshires !

And very nice it will be as well !

About 20 years ago, I was staying in a cottage in Yorkshire, not far from all the locations that were used for filming "Last of the Summer Wine" We went to a Pub that Compo and the rest used to go to and nurse their half pints. On the menu was Yorkshire Pub, with beef and gravy ( note the Pud was mentioned first, before the beef ! )

It came in a huge dish, like a dog bowl. The Pud covered the dish and a piece of beef and some gravy was plonked in the middle, and it was delicious ! The Pud was very chewy though, not crisp like the way I make them.
Sounds lovely, mikey. When I make a Yorkshire pud I do it in a big tin. I love the soggy middle bits.

I'm afraid I use Aunt Bessies now. My Mum would be turning in her grave if she knew !
Nowt wrong with Auntie Bessies. Using them prevents having the kitchen stinking of burning fat. Yeuk!
Oh dear, mikey. Shame on you!

// We went to a Pub that Compo and the rest used to go to and nurse their half pints. //

that is holmfirth I think .....

the yorkshire pud came first because there is lots of it and just a little flavouring of beef. In the Good Old Days you ate suet ( = Y P ) before meat to fill you up and spare the meat. My gt gt .....'s proud boast was that she served meat every day.

( In Egypt in 1978 my interpreter said " the labourers you are looking at will eat meat between once a week and once a month" even then I went "blimey !" and recollected my old .....)
Oi! I want more news about the snow that's falling but not settling.

I'm compiling a list of the most desperate posts to seek the attention of other contributors to Answerbank in a twelvemonth.

I know it's early yet but I think we have a winner in Slushfest 2017.
