How To Turn Off Google Account Security Sign In

i was out of my home, i needed to sign into my google account , i went to internet shop but google wouldnt let me sign in, it prompted me to get a text message or call from my phone, but my phone wss also in home. i didnt want this security set up. i needed access to my account there and then and i was left stuck as it would nt let me into account.

ive looked at google email now and canr seem to find way to turn this annoyance off .

help please !!!

I think these measures may be there to help ensure that accounts aren't hacked from unidentified computers or phones, saving the registered person from themselves because they think 'it'll never happen to me', then it does, it all kicks off and folk on web forums are subjected to a (possibly embarrassed) rant about how easy it is to disable security settings.
