My dad, who is in a care home has been hankering for an Indian meal for ages. Finally, today, we took him out and, bearing in mind he usually has a bit of meat, a spoonful of mash and some mixed vegetables for lunch in the care home, he did well with his feast today.

He had:- Poppadoms and chutneys, King prawn puri, Chicken shaslik, special fried rice, a bit of naan bread and two pints of Cobra. He ate every bit.

This is a man who was at end of life stage in November 2014. Well done, Dad!

Dad seems to have been ok after his meal.

He said today, 'Perhaps we could go out once a month. I'd like to try a Thai Green Curry next time.'

He watches too many cookery programmes!
