Yes I agree ,, as soon as he came on the screen I said to my husband he must be the new inspector.... I can see him going back with the other two and the other one staying in London with his girlfriend.

I loved Ardal's character in Father Ted and I'm pleased he is to star in another high profile series.
Thankfully his new role is totally different from Father Dougal

When I heard Humphrey was leaving I thought nooooo. And said to hubby that Ardal was the completed wrong choice, but after watching it I was pleasantly surprised.

The only two left from the original series are Dwayne and Commissioner Patterson. I think Danny Jonn-Jules has stayed in it because his dad lives on the next island so he doesn't get home sick.
