just watch the excellent new movie 8 days a week and although brought up in the "everybody smoked" era , my god its shocking how many people smoked in the 60 looking back in this film all the beatles and technicians have a cig in hand or mouth,you dont realize how times have changed regarding smoking

True - I grew up in that time, and it is amazing how many people smoked, and how often.

The same applies when you watch '70's TV series like The Sweeney - they are constantly sparking up, and often stopping off to buy cigarettes from the old corner shop cove who was a bit of a villain back in the day, and has the odd bit of info for Jack and George.

Even more shocking is seeing footballers having a cig at halftime, and racing drivers smoking in the pits, while the car is refueled.
