Mobile phone contracts
6 Answers
Hi there
I would really like it if someone could clear something up for me. I've been told by a few people that you have to be 18 to take out an 02 mobile phone contract, however ive also been told by an equal number of people that this is a load of rubbish! Does anyone know the truth?!
Thank you

You do need to be on an electoral roll as a Credit Check will be ran on the buyer and this CAN be based on the electoral register as well as many other factors.
You also need to be 18yrs or over to get a BT telephone line for the same reasons - as it is a form of Credit and checks are done on ALL new customers.
eg - Line rental is paid in advance but calls are paid for in arrears - the telephone company is effectively giving the 'buyer' a credit facility.
