Years ago, while growing up in Ireland, my mom heard the phrase "bitches melt". Everyone knew it was not a good thing to be called, but no one knew what it meant. Anyone know the meaning of this phrase?

'Milt' with an 'i' means the spawn of fish, specifically, though it may possibly be applied to the offspring of other creatures in Ireland...I don't know. If that were the case, calling someone 'a bitch's milt' might mean much the same as calling them 'a son of a bitch'.

I thought a melt was like the runt of the litter - so a bitch's melt would be the same - mind you, I'm going back a lot of years with that
