If one was to fall pregnant whilst on the contraceptive pill would one still get a "period" during the 7 day break?

i had a very slight bleed but it was old blood, very different from an actual period

When you are on the pill, you don't actually have a real period, only the lining of the womb comes away. You are not producing eggs.
