Windows 10 Restore

How do you do a System Restore in Windows 10. Please any answers in simle language as I am starting to stuggle with complicated things and thanks for any help.

Unless you have serious problems a reset should resolve your issues - backup EVERYTHING including game files, documents, pictures, videos, bookmarks/favourites then left click on your start button, go to settings, then update and security, then recovery and then click reset. There is also information on restarting on a full clean version at the bottom of the page.

System Restore is turned OFF by default in Windows 10. So, unless you've enabled it, there probably won't be any restore points available for you to use.

Have tried the system resore but it keeps saying it failed. How do I enable it though it did have 4 restore points.

I forgot to mention that it said I could try a more advanced restore whatever that means.
The original problem was i accidently uninstaled my Rainlender calender. Yes I could re-install it but it is trying to remember all the items on it.

Neither System restore nor any other process will fix that problem.
You should just re-install the software. You may even find (though don't hold your breath) that the items are still there.

When you uninstall some programs their data files are left intact. For example, if you uninstall Firefox and then reinstall it again you'll find that your bookmarks and personal settings from the old installation magically appear in the new one.

So the data file which Rainlendar used might still be present on your computer. Click on Start, type *.ics into the search box and hit Enter. That might find the file straight away. If not, in the empty search results box, go to Organize and click on the View tab. Click next to 'Show hidden files, folders and drives'. Click Apply and then OK and repeat your search.
[Note: Those instructions are based upon Windows 7 but they're probably similar in W10]

Hopefully that will find the file you want. If not it's probably gone for ever, although you could try Recuva to see if it can be restored:

If you can find the .ics file, move it to a new location (such as your desktop) so that there's no risk of a new installation of Rainlendar over-writing it. Then reinstall Rainlendar.

Once again search for *.ics, to find the empty data file which has just been added to your computer. Right-click on it and select 'Open file location'. Then delete the new .ics file from that folder and replace it with the old one.

Now the excitement is over still leaves the 2 questions I need help on 1. How to do I check Ststem Restore is Enabled 2. Why do i keep getting the message rstore has not been successful.
