Finding Information
4 Answers
Hi all
I've been sorting out some things and came across two books which I think belonged to my nan. I must have taken them from her house when it was being cleared after her death.
They seem to be bank accounts dating from the 1800's - 1931.
They have names on them and to my family's knowledge they are not members of my family. I've tried googling the names/company that is written on them to no avail.
These books are fascinating me and I'd love to find out more info. Can anyone point me in any sort of direction as to finding out more about these.

Try looking on the Censuses for 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891, 1901 and the last accessible one 1911. If you are not an annual paying member you may be able to go just on Findmypast and pay just for credits to look these up. Sounds fascinating if they are listed on any of the censuses you will find out their occupation.
Thanks Ann. Don't know why I didn't think of that. I think my mum is a member of ancestry.
I don't know their exact locations but I know what branch of banks they used.
Fingers crossed I can find something. They have intrigued me for weeks and I'd love to actually find them and put a past to the names (I watch too much who do you think you are and heir hunters) ha ha
