IP Adresses

i play an online game called runescape, and they have this rule where if you trade between accounts then both accounts get in danger of becoming banned. so anyways, with my new lan connection that means me and my brother can play at the same time, would this mean we both end up having the same IP address? because this could cause problems as they might think im logged onto both at once to trade items etc over.....

You connect via a wire and your brother through wireless. You have the same external IP address but different internal IP addreses. Your router uses NAT so you both can play the game. To the external world you are both on the same IP address, the external one. I hope this clears up the confusion. Interestingly, I guess you can easily trade between yourself and your brother (even offline) which is what the online gamers don't want.
