Sunday. A most enjoyable day on the canal yesterday. We got there in time to have breakfast in The Stables first. We met some lovely people from far and wide. One family of four from Canada, here for a family event, were so impressed with what we are doing they joined Cotswold Canals Trust and made a fair sized donation. They will of course get email updates, newsletters etc. A lovely family, they asked sensible questions and listened to the answers. That may sound obvious, but it is not always the case. The missus asked where they could go to see what is being done, so we gave them a list of sites where they can see and talk to the people working there. They also bought some books on the project and some Canal Art articles. Another couple and their two year old daughter live aboard their boat were also impressed enough to join. They only stopped to use the pumpout! They needed to buy a card to operate it and needed a hand to get it to work, it can be temperamental. We've told Canal And Rivers Trust, (was British Waterways) it needs servicing many times. On the way taking me mate home, we stopped for dinner at a pub on the A38. Most enjoyable. I hadn't been to it for about 5 years, so it was nice to find it had a new landlady who has improved it a great deal, and she has a great sense of humour.
Just a bit of shoplifting today and some domesticity.
Tiggy is in summer mode, and so is being fed. He's in bed as it's wet 'n orrible out this morning.
Good morning, I pretended to be asleep when B got up to do the dogs, just did not feel like going. I am going to do breakfast now once I have had a coffee if I can remember the recipe.
