Well....... spectacular response! Thanks guys, (not sure where the whole Romanian-dog-rescue thing came from?) but aside from that. Yes, I'll have to wait and see!!
Trip to pick him up tomorrow aborted......(woman owner/breeder text me to say Sorry, weve decided to sell him to someone else! Blimey, she'd not even
MET me!!! And then readvertised on same site for more money? What The Funicular?
Going all the way to South Ridings Yorkshire on Sat to view another!!
2+ hour drive so fingers crossed!

Thank you mamalynne! Yeah I was gutted! Organised day off, to travel to Halifax etc...she (the breeder) sounded a bit 'strange' on the phone.... but... as I was buying the dog and not her....I didn't let it bother me.... hey ho... better off out of it. (Poor doggie)

Well exactly when you think they only have pound signs in mind you do fear for the pups, as you say little you can do but hopefully find someone more caring.

Sorry to hijack your thread with the Romanian dog stuff! Hope all goes well but please - if things don't seem right or you feel uncomfortable with any breeders then walk away - there will be plenty of others and always check with breed clubs if people are members as they have to abide by rules and code of ethics. I am always happy to put people in touch with breeders or clubs or rescues if that is what you want. Do your homework on health conditions in every breed and hopefully you will get the right dog for you. There are so many 'back yard breeders' who may mean well but not really be in it for the good of the breed. Genuine responsible breeders will want the best for their pups too, so be prepared for the spanish inquisition and if you don't get it, ask yourself why.

You didn't 'hijack' the thread lankeela, someone else mentioned Romanian dogs first and frankly I don't see anything wrong with it. Threads often get 'hijacked' anyway.

Well on that note this has just come through on my facebook page - he is already in the UK in foster in Lancashire but it shows what they have to deal with - he is a black and white Collie cross type. "KIMBO age 5 looking for his forever home. Friendly, affectionate but needs to be an only dog. Quiet, doesn't bark, can be left but looking for someone who has plenty of time for him. Likes walks but inbetween will sit quietly with you. Has a slightly lame foot from being hit by a car when on the streets of Romania but he walks just about normally so please give him a chance. "

Thank you everyone. Going to (hopefully) bring my little puppy back tomorrow (Saturday afternoon). So excited!!
