what can one say, they get it wrong sometimes.
I didn't watch but they usually say 'credited' - for some he wasn't.

The other you mention may not be classed as a film - as I say I din't hear the full question.

1952 Hallmark Hall of Fame, James Dean as Bradford - Episode: "Forgotten Children"
Not so very wrong surely ? Most people would remember Rebel, East of Eden, and Giant.
Gollob is saying the quiz setter is wrong, but we haven't heard the full terms of the question.

it i a common mistake which many quiz setters get wrong
Did they stipulate films he was credited in?, they usually do.
Mamya is right he stipulated he had to be credited in as on IMDB.
According to IMDB he didn't receive a credit for any film other than the big 3 he is remembered for. Although I don't exactly know what that means (he was classed as a extra, he wasn't paid, he just wandered in front of the camera. And Forgotten Children is even more intriguingly listed as unconfirmed. But I see your point, he should receive credit for being in those film.
The three films weren't part of the question. The question was
'Actor who received Oscar nominations for Giant and East of Eden (initials JD)'

Richard Osman said that he only appeared in three films, as part of the extra bits of info he gives at the end of a question.
Credited usually means exactly that - as the credits roll if your name appears you are credited.

Die hard fans will know he appeared in more than just those credited appearances,

'Forgotten Children' wasn't a film but a TV episode as above.
Ta Clover, so the question was not about the number of films - clearer now.
Mamya, the Hallmark movies aren't episodes in the usual sense, they're stand-alone dramas (one was an opera, I think) and appear irregularly. I still don't know that they qualify as films, but they're not like an episode of Dr Kildare or whatever.
Agreed yes, still not a film agreed.

Isn't life complicated? lol
^ got carried away with 'agreed' there, sorry.
On IMDb James Dean is listed as appearing (credited) in only 3 films. The other 28 listings are for TV Series(both credited and uncredited)

"Forgotten Children" is classed as a TV Movie, and so in the eyes of Pointless probably doesn't count.
The usual Pointless criteria for films include only those where the actor is credited on IMDb and excludes shorts, documentaries and TV movies
Thanks for that information Calibax.
Yes I think we've established that and it turns out not to have actually been part of the question but a comment by Richard after a Lady correctly identified James Dean as an answer.
