Lansoprazole

Just wondered if any of you are taking this for acid reflux/ Hiatus hernia? I used to take Omeprazole but they stopped working. I've been taking it for about 5 weeks. I've been so tired, no energy since taking them. Anyone else experience this?

Yes I take these, like you I used to take omeprazole, I too am tired but I put that down to my op.
Have you had your vitamin levels checked recently you could just be run down?

I take it with no noticeable reduction in my not very exciting energy levels. If I forget to take it, the acid reflux will come back within the next 24 hours so I dare not stop. I must have been on it for 15 years or so.

It could be just coincidence. I do feel run down Islay, I feel physically and mentally tired lately. I don't sleep for hours when I go to bed. Don't want to take sleeping tablets. Thought it might be Lansoprazole as it started about same time. Looks like I will be on them for life too jno....Thanks for your responses.

Patsy, the annoying thing is I only very rarely had the reflux, maybe once every couple of weeks. So taking the pills in effect makes it worse, even while keeping it at bay :-(

I take it on an (occasional) prophylactic basis to protect my stomach from the cox-2 joint pain pills that I need when my back and/or knee flare up.

I've not noticed any lethargy (behond the usual ...)

I do agree with jno - if I have to take it for several days I get a 'bounce' in the acidic direction when I stop.

I know what's caused my acid reflux, other bleedin medication I need! One thing seems to start the other off. Maybe I'll get some multi vitamins Islay and see if that will help.

I have been taking Omeprazole for 16 years and it's fine(sorry) but what dosage were you on?Of course everyone has different reactions to medication,and it depends how severe a hiatus hernia that they have.
