picked up in London suggests said in Cockney accent- with H dropped.

But boats could be junks

What is the letter count and known pattern please?
not sure what oakum is but it does sound like hokum so could be right
Used to caulk boat decks.
Thanks. Now i just need to look up caulk! It's amazing how many new words we can still learn after all these years
Oakam was unravelled hemp rope which was tarred and used to seal small gaps in a wooden ship.
