What's Cool?
6 Answers
I'm nearly 40 years old and feel I'm getting out of touch with what's happening on the street. (don't worry, I'm not going through a mid life crisis) I just want to know about what's effectively cool.
Recommendations from you are as follows
1. Cool expressions - (eg, blingin' mingin' sick! mad, sad, sorted - you get the idea, I do want better ones than these.)
2. Cool Gizmos - toys/games/equipment
3. Cool Brands - (eg, Puma, Nike, Nokia, but I want branded items as well like Sony Bravia).
4. Cool Cars - Now this is my fave (I want old and new cars, eg, the new Citroen C4 and the classic Aston Martin DB4).

The only people who are cool are the ones who don't give a toss if they are or not, and that's true of any age group. My teenage kids wouldn't be seen dead in "designer" or "branded" clothing because they think it's embarassing and shows a low level of understanding about the way in which firms like Nike and Addidas produce their gear. Some people think that's very cool of them and some people think they're prats bcause they're not draped from head to foot in dodgy sports clothing, so as zacmaster says what's cool to one person is embarassing to another.
Find your own flava, go with what suits you and don't worry what anyone thinks. Cars are subjective again, they can be cool because they are funky ( Fiat 500) or cool because they are a beautiful bit of kit (Aston etc). My one son has a lotus elise which is a gorgeous little car and the other has a mini covered in fur fabric ( yeah I know) but more often than not it's the mini people use the cool word about.Just go with the flow, you can't go wrong .

It depends what sort of person you are (looking from a high school kids point of view here not mine) to what you consider cool, also talking from the UK here! Chavs/ townies/ scallys use words such as bare or nuff in front of love (instead of lots of) I think bare can also be used in front of other stuff, whereas emos tend to say blates. I'm only 19 and I'm not sure of stuff like this, we all grew out of it after high school and now consider people as people not stereotypes! So thats all I can say really, why do you ask anyway?
I think this question has back fired on me. I'm not teying to look /sound 20, I'm me and happy with that...I'm compiling a list of cool things seen by different people, hence, the use of modern day slang, things that people look up to (brands are easily identifiable)
Anyway, thanks for your inputs guys
